The company was established in 1997 as the importer of Jaguar cars in Indonesia.
Malayan Motors began representing the Jaguar marque in Singapore in January 1970. Moving from Orchard Road to Leng Kee Road in late 1970s, Malayan Motors remains today a leader in the niche luxury automotive industry. Achievements include being one of the top dealers in Southeast Asia to retail the breathtaking Jaguar XJ220 and being the best performing dealer for Jaguar cars in Southeast Asia.
With the Thai automotive industry opening up in the middle of 1991, Jaguar Cars (Thailand) was established as importer/distributor on 15 April 1992. It is a joint venture between AAS Auto Service Co Ltd (Thailand) and Wearnes Automotive & Equipment Pte Ltd (Singapore).
